This had a lot of what I like, both in story and eroticism--except the gay sex. I don't have a problem with it being out there for others to enjoy. What I have a problem with is not being warned about it. You might be saying to yourself, "'Players quest, grow their warrior harems, join in great battles and find love and lust in whatever form they desire. There is no taboo too great or too intimate,' says it all, and it's in the description, idiot!" You'd be wrong, as I can think of any number of "taboos" which many readers looking for a raunchy time would object to. For instance, the very common rape fantasy, when not warned about, can cause problems for a lot of people. My aversion to gay sex isn't trauma-inducing like that, but it sours the story for me, which is disappointing, considering that I think the series has a lot to offer. There's a reason most stories of this kind have story codes. Worse, the sample didn't contain any real hints of the full spectrum of kinks involved, which would have been easy to do in the character creation scene. Honestly, that's exactly the wrong information to withhold for the sake of mystery/suspense/etc, especially in a sample.Having said that, I struggled with deciding how many stars to give this, since I couldn't manage to read the whole thing, but I felt the core of the story was solid. Also, for those who enjoy the kind of eroticism it depicts, it would be unfair to both readers and the author rate this too low. So, I'll just rate what I've managed to get through, which was good fun. I can't give it five stars because of subpar editing, but I don't believe authors deserve to be downgraded based on a reader's sexual tastes either.
